Quota Reform Movement : Protesters hold funeral prayer at DU for quota movement victims

Quota protesters held gayebana-namaj-e-janaza (absentee funeral prayer) on the Dhaka University campus for the salvation of the departed souls of those killed in violence during the quota reform movement.

On Wednesday at around 4 pm, several thousands of students, carrying six coffins (symbolic), gathered in front of the Vice Chancellor’s residence to offer the prayer.

Earlier, protesters began gathering at the Raju Memorial Sculpture at TSC around noon.

Law enforcement dispersed them with sound grenades and detained former DUCSU Social Services Secretary Akhtar Hossain.

After the sound grenades, the protesters took positions at various spots on the campus, including the VC Chattar and Mall Chattar, before holding the funeral prayer at VC Chattar.
