Govt raises age limit for public jobs to 32 years

The interim government has decided to set the maximum age limit for entering into the public services at 32 years instead of the previous 30 years.

The Advisory Council took the decision during its 10th meeting held with Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus in the chair on Thursday.

The job seekers will be allowed to appear for the BCS examination only three times, according to the decision of the council.

The maximum age limit for entering all government jobs outside the scope of Bangladesh Civil Service will also be 32 years.

Meanwhile, the agitating students rejected the government decision outright, saying that they would take the next course of action programme to realise their demand.
