C T Online Desk: Sarwar Jahan Jewel Mymensingh: Mymensingh City Corporation Administrator Md. Rukunozzaman Rokon has taken to the streets to ease traffic congestion at the busiest Baghmara rail crossing area in Mymensingh city. He visited the spot on Thursday (October to monitor the situation and give necessary instructions to control the traffic congestion caused by vehicles entering the wrong side and disorderly movement on the road.
Baghmara Rail Crossing is an important road junction in the city. A large number of vehicles from different areas ply this road every day. The pressure of vehicles increases here during busy hours centered on offices, courts, educational institutions and businesses. Some of these vehicles enter the road side without following the rules, creating severe traffic jams. This disrupts normal traffic flow and also causes inconvenience to pedestrians and ordinary passengers.
Taking the matter seriously, Mymensingh City Corporation Administrator Md. Rukunozzaman Rokon visited the Baghmara rail crossing area on Thursday. At that time, he himself stood on the road and observed the traffic situation. In addition to giving necessary instructions to the concerned to control the vehicles entering the road side, various steps were taken immediately to keep the traffic movement normal.
At this time, the administrator emphasized on maintaining traffic discipline on the roads. At the same time, he instructed the concerned to pay attention to the prevention of traffic jams due to random stopping of vehicles, entering the color side and using the road without following the rules.
Locals said that traffic jams in the Baghmara rail crossing area are not a new problem. Especially during busy hours, the situation becomes complicated due to the movement of trains on the rail crossing on one side, and the pressure of additional vehicles and cars entering the opposite side on the other. Sometimes the traffic jam spreads to the surrounding roads as well. This wastes the time of the common people, including ambulances and patient vehicles moving for emergency purposes.
City residents complain that many drivers break the rules and try to pass on the colored side to avoid traffic jams. This temporarily allows a car to move forward, but it hinders traffic in both directions, further increasing the traffic jam. As a result, drivers need to be aware and regularly monitor the road to maintain order.
Local residents are positively viewing the administrator’s on-site presence and immediate action. They expect that not only immediate action, but regular surveillance and traffic management in the Baghmara rail crossing area will be strengthened. At the same time, if effective measures are taken to stop the movement of vehicles on the red side, the level of traffic congestion in this area will be greatly reduced.
The on-site activities of the administrator to reduce traffic congestion in Mymensingh city and restore order on the roads have created a positive response among the general public. Those concerned believe that if such activities continue on important roads and intersections of the city, it will not only control traffic congestion but also restore ease of movement for the city resident
