C T Online Desk: Mahmud Foysal, Special Correspondent: A human chain and protest program have been held in Chandraganj Upazila of Lakshmipur on the allegation of Jubo League leader’s attack on volunteer party leader.
The human chain was held at Bhuiyar Hat Bazar in Charshahi Union No. 6 of Chandraganj Upazila on Saturday (June 27) afternoon. Locals including leaders and activists of various levels of Union Volunteer Party and ward BNP participated in it.
At that time, the speakers alleged that on Wednesday (June 24) at around 1:30 pm, Jubo League leader Murad and his associates of the banned organization ambushed Arman Hossain, joint convener of Volunteer Party of Ward No. 5, Titarkandi village, Charshahi Union No. 6, on a sudden. Arman was seriously injured in a pre-planned attack near the mosque of the Basahazi Patwari house of the union. Later, locals rescued him and admitted him to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital.
The speakers strongly condemned the incident and demanded the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of those involved in the attack. At the same time, they sought effective steps from the administration to stop political violence.
The human chain was addressed by Farhad Hossain, member secretary of Charshahi Union Volunteer Party No. 6, Abdul Majid, president of Ward No. 5 BNP, general secretary Faiz Ahmed, ward volunteer party convener Imran Hossain Raju and member secretary, Jahangir Alam Mohon, the victim’s father Abdul Khalek and many others.
