C T Online Desk: Sarwar Jahan Jewel Mymensingh : Extensive preparations have begun in Trishal, Mymensingh to celebrate the 127th birth anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam at the national level. An important preparatory meeting was held at the Rasheduzzaman Hall Room of the Upazila Parishad at the initiative of the upazila administration on Monday (May 11) at 11 am.
It was informed at the meeting that this national event will last for a total of five days, starting from May 21 and ending on May 25, 2026. As the main attraction of this year’s event, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will be present as the chief guest on the closing day (May 25).
Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury was present as the chief guest at the preparatory meeting. Local MP Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Liton and District Council Administrator Imran Saleh Prince spoke as special guests. Also present were senior officials of the upazila administration, law enforcement agencies, political leaders, cultural figures and media personnel.
After almost two decades, the meeting was held to make this national-level event on such a large scale a success in Trishal.

After almost 24 years, this national-level event in Trishal is creating a festive atmosphere among local Nazrul devotees and the general public. The Culture Minister said in his speech, “This national-level event in this town, which is famous for Nazrul’s memory, will be the best event in memory.”
The upazila administration said that each department has been given specific responsibilities to make the event a success and all preparations are being completed through regular supervision.
