Traders Vow To Stop Terrorism In Noakhali; Strong Demand For Setting Up Of Police Camps

C T Online Desk: Golam Rabbani, Noakhali Correspondent :  The locals have staged a protest rally against the terrorists in Andar-Char, Noakhali Sadar Upazila, in protest of the continued terrorist activities, land grabbing and recent vandalism, looting and arson at the residence of Bangla Bazar trader Md. Horon for demanding extortion.

The protest rally was held on Sunday (December 7) afternoon at Banglabazar in Andarchar Union. During this, an oath was taken to stop arson and extortionists in a united manner. Market traders, victim family members and common people participated spontaneously.

The victims said in the rally that in a plan to evict the landless, local terrorists Md. Hasan Mistry and Mahfuz Dakat, under the leadership of Shakil, an expatriate from America, are openly and openly waging a reign of terror in the Bangla Bazar area in broad daylight. Before August 5, these terrorists were involved in extortion, attacks, vandalism and looting under the umbrella of the Awami League. These activities are still ongoing. Even though these incidents are happening regularly, the administration seems to be silent.

Earlier, without receiving extortion, organized terrorists led by local terrorists Hasan Mistry and Mahfuz Dakat attacked, vandalized and looted the business establishment of the president of the market management committee, Abu Sufian. Later, on November 30, at around 5 am, they surrounded the market trader Md. Horan’s house, godown and kitchen, including three houses, with country-made weapons, in a medieval style. They looted and set fire to them. This caused at least 20 lakh taka of damage. Currently, they are living an inhuman life under the open sky. The victim Md. Horan filed a written complaint against those involved in this incident at the Sudharam Model Police Station, but the police did not take a case.

The speakers demanded exemplary punishment by arresting these criminals at the protest rally. They also demanded the establishment of a police camp in the border area of ​​Noakhali and Lakshmipur for the safety of people and property. National Citizen Party-NCP central member Tuhin Imran, Noakhali Sadar Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Youth Division Joint Secretary Rashedul Islam Bhuiyan, Islami Andolon Bangladesh leader Maulana Abdul Karim, Banglabazar Businessmen Association President Abu Sufian and General Secretary Ali Ahmed Rashed, and many others spoke during the event.
