C T Online Desk: The National Citizen Party (NCP) launched its comprehensive “Vision 2035” at the Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025.
With a focus on innovation, sustainability, and good governance, the summit spotlighted sweeping reforms aimed at transforming the country into a green, high-tech, and equitable economy.
Joint Member Secretary of NCP Mushfiq us Salehin told Dhaka Tribune: “National consensus is essential when it comes to the economic sector. This is something we must address collectively for the greater good of the nation.
Dubbed “Bangladesh 2.0,” the roadmap imagines a digital-first nation where smart infrastructure, algorithmic governance, and chip manufacturing replace bureaucracy, inefficiency, and outdated systems.
As part of its vision for a modernized economy, NCP has proposed a series of business climate and regulatory reforms aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency, and investor confidence.
Key proposals include the establishment of a one-stop digital investor facilitation centre to streamline company registration, licensing, and taxation.
The party also advocates for automated VAT and tax filing systems, and the implementation of a blockchain-based land registry to minimize property disputes.
Other initiatives include launching a real-time government spending tracker, strengthening anti-corruption laws under an independent oversight body, introducing a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), and bolstering intellectual property rights to protect innovation in pharmaceuticals, software, design, and manufacturing.
NCP also proposed reducing business costs and tax reforms.
The party proposed zero tariffs for capital goods import for the high-tech industry. As well, a 10-year tax holiday for strategic sectors such as semiconductors, AI, and renewable energy.
NCP also proposed for the use of Al algorithms to track anomalies in government spending and implement real-time digital monitoring of government contracts to fight corruption
The party also proposed to develop economic hubs in Chittagong, Khulna, and Sylhet to decentralize Dhaka’s economic burden.
Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) focused Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are also priority of NCP.
They proposed tech SEZ focusing on AI, IoT, software, and chip manufacturing. Solar & Battery SEZ for renewable energy production hubs.
Their goal for these SEZs are atrracting sustainablity.
According to Salehin, the NCP will raise these issues regardless of whether they are in government or not.
“We believe that regardless of who is in power, these kinds of initiatives are necessary for the benefit of our country,” he added.
