C T Online Desk: Engr. Mokarrom Billah from Feni : Feni’s newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Monira Haque exchanged views with journalists of print and electronic media working in the district. On Sunday morning, at a meeting held in the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room, journalists welcomed the new Deputy Commissioner and raised their concerns and suggestions regarding various problems as well as prospects of the district.
The meeting discussed the city’s traffic congestion, waterlogging, the deterioration of law and order in the entire district, including drugs, juvenile crime, theft, robbery, and extortion, and demanded effective steps to prevent river erosion after the collapse of the Muchapur regulator.
In addition, it was suggested to strengthen the role of the administration to utilize Feni’s industrial, commercial, and tourism potential.
Newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Monira Haque said that she is aware of the socio-economic conditions of Feni as her old workplace. She sought everyone’s cooperation to ensure district development, law and order and normal living of the people.
The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Ismail Hossain. Local Government Department Deputy Director Golam Md. Baten, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Fahmida Haque, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management) Romain Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Fatema Sultana and Feni Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sultana Nasrin Kanta.
