Impossible to kill mosquitoes by   spraying medicine, public awareness  needed

C T Online Desk: Chittagong City Corporation General Hospital of the port city  inaugurated the free dengue test by  City Mayor Bir Muktijoddha. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury.The program, which was inaugurated on Monday , will continue from 9 am to 4 pm every day until the dengue outbreak subsides.The mayor said that this initiative has been taken so that the poor people are not financially deprived of dengue tests. This program will continue until dengue does not decrease and if dengue prevalence increases, free dengue testing program will be started in more hospitals if necessary.

It is not possible to kill mosquitoes by just spraying medicine, public awareness is needed for this. CCC’s 100-day Crush  program incorporates drones to identify Aedes mosquito larvae. Meanwhile yesterday I found a swimming pool on the roof of a multi-storied building in Nashirabad housing society which has not been cleaned in 2 years. Through drones, it is becoming possible to identify and destroy mosquito breeding grounds in such places and rooftops.

CCC  chief health officer Dr. Salim Akhtar Chowdhury said that high quality worms have been collected for dengue testing. We will have free dengue test if anyone is infected. He suggested that if the symptoms of dengue appear, instead of taking medicine from the dispensary, get tested directly and get treatment at the hospital.

At this time, the president of the Standing Committee on Health Affairs of CCC  Councilor Abdus Salam Masum, Zahar Lal Hazari, Health Officer of CCC  Dr. Md. Imam Hossain Rana and others were present.

Meanwhile, CCC  Special Magistrate Manisha Mahajan fined 5 house owners a total of 38 thousand rupees for finding mosquito larvae in Agrabad CDA residential area. Besides, the 100-day crush program is running in full swing in the wards.
