C T Online Desk: Detectives detained former Manikganj-2 Awami League MP and renowned singer Momtaz Begum from Dhanmondi in the capital on Monday night.
Md Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media and public communications) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said a team of the Detective Branch picked her up from the Star Kabab Restaurant area around 11:30pm.
She has been accused in several cases, but it remains unclear in which case she will be shown arrested, he added.
