BAJUS for ‘soft loan’ to gold traders

C T Online Desk: Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) has urged the banks to issue soft loan for the gold traders for supporting the growing industry of precious metal.

BAJUS general secretary Dilip Kumar Agarwala made the call during a view exchange meeting in Panchagarh district on Tuesday.

“Gold industry has shown potentials to earn more foreign currencies as export oriented sector. Businesses need credit support to expand the industries,” Agarwala said at the meeting held at Panchagarh Community Centre in the district.

Under presidency of Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir, BAJUS has taken different initiatives for the sake of gold traders over last one year.

BAJUS Advisor Ruhul Amin Rasel was special guest while BAJUS Panchagarh district unit president Nabin Chandra Banik presided over the session.

“BAJUS President Sayem Sobhan Anvir dreams to establish world-class gold industry in Bangladesh. He has been working relentlessly for happing this,” said Rasel, also business editor at Bangladesh Pratidin.

He urged the gold traders to be united for leading the industry to global stage with their excellence in design in gold ornaments.

BAJUS district monitoring committee member Enamul Haque Sohel, Panchagarh district unit’s general secretary Madhusudan Roy Banik, Tentulia Upazila Jewellery Association convener Abul Kalam, Atwari Upazila unit president Khagendra Nath Barman, general secretary Nipen Chandra Ghosh, Boda Upazila president Niranjan Kumar Ghosh, general secretary Bilash Chandra Burman, Debiganj Upazila unit president Jagdish Chandra Roy and general secretary Malindranath Burman were also present on the occasion.
