C T Online Desk: Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) Mayor Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy and Member of Parliament (MP) Shamim Osman have called for unity among party members in Narayanganj.
The two influential figures of Narayanganj Awami League were seen on the same stage at a party conference in Sonargaon on Saturday.
District Awami League Senior Vice President Dr Selina Hayat Ivy said: “We are all followers of Sheikh Hasina. Stop giving slogans in the name of different people and give slogans only in the name of Sheikh Hasina. Everyone will go away if Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is not there. Everyone should work together for Sheikh Hasina.”
At that time, Narayanganj-4 MP Shamim Osman said: “I am Sheikh Hasina’s follower. I have always been and want to die as her follower. The position against BNP, Jamaat, and those civil servants should be clarified. No one should be in the Awami League to question her decision. There are some misunderstandings in Sonargaon. All those misunderstandings should be left aside and an Awami League stronghold should be built here with everyone’s cooperation.”
At the end of the discussion, in Sonargaon upazila, Advocate Samsul Islam Bhuiyan was elected as president, Abdullah Al Qaiser Hasnat as general secretary and Engineer Masudur Rahman Masum as senior vice-president was formed as a three-member partial committee.
