CMP Commissioner’s challenge

C T Online Desk: Disinformation is going on to tarnish the image of an efficient and multi-faceted institution like the Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP). CMP Commissioner Krishna Pad Roy commented that publishing news without any objective document, audio or video record is not consistent with the principles of journalism.

CMP Commissioner said that some persons are maligning an ancient government agency like Bangladesh Police and not getting any immoral benefits from the officer-in-charge of Chandgaon police station. Under the guidance of Inspector General of Police, Bangladesh Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, BPM (Bar), PPM any posting of Chittagong Metropolitan Police is done with hundred percent transparency.

CMP administration does not have the slightest chance of becoming an officer-in-charge with money.

The CMP commissioner challenged the news published in a daily titled ‘I have sat on the chair with a bribe, I have not come to serve for free’ as false, baseless and biased. Besides, he expressed the opinion that CMP will take appropriate legal action if the media related to this defamatory news do not retract and express regret.

Earlier on Tuesday (May 30) afternoon in a press conference organized at CMP’s media center in Dampara of the city, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Operations) ASM Mahtab Uddin said that the victims filed a case after a scuffle at a family property in Mohra area of Chandgaon police station. Later, the police investigated and arrested the two accused.
