C T Online Desk: Panama flag carrier commercial ship ‘Venus Triumph’ first berthed at Matarbari coal power project jetty on 29th December 2020. A second jetty was then constructed to begin berthing ships on 15 July 2021. On Wednesday, ‘MV Hoshi Fortune’ arrived at Matarbari, known as ‘The Next Power and Port Hub’, as the hundredth vessel. Secretary of Chittagong Port Authority Omar Farooq confirmed this to the media. According to sources, the port’s experienced pilot Noor Alam Siddiqui brought it to Matarbari Oil Jetty from outer anchorage. The berthing of the ship was completed between 5:30 PM and 5:00 PM. The port’s powerful tug ‘Kandari 10’ helps in this work.
