‘Online Platformed English Speaking Course’ for students launched in Sitakunda

C T Online Desk: The Sitakunda upazila administration has launched an “Online Platformed English Speaking Course” with an aim to improve English proficiency among students of all primary and secondary-level schools in the upazila.

With the financial support of MFJF Foundation and through the online course of 10 Minute School, the programme of the speaking course was inaugurated on Saturday by the overall arrangement of the upazila administration.

This is the first such initiative at the upazila level in the country. As many as 25,000 students of about 150 educational institutions of the upazila will be taught English through the speaking course, read a press release.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) KM Rafiqul Islam, who has taken the initiative, was present at the event as the chief guest. 10 Minute School CEO Ayman Sadiq and its Chief Instructor Munzereen Shahid attended the programme virtually.

S Mustafa Alam Sarkar, upazila secondary education officer, presided over the event.

MFJF Foundation Chief Adviser Ahmed Armaan Siddiqui, Sitakunda Upazila Assistant Commissioner (land) Alauddin, Upazila Education Officer Mohammed Nurussofa, Upazila ICT Assistant Programmer Abdur Rahim, and other officials of various departments, along with headmasters, teachers, and students were present among others.
