C T Online Desk: Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Friday said that the government is trying to introduce one-way education up to a specific level for all under the new school curriculum.
“Our present education system divided into different ways but we are trying to introduce the one-way education for students under the new curriculum.”
Dipu Moni came up with the remarks while addressing a discussion meeting arranged by National University at International Mother Language Institute in the capital.
She said the language movement is the source of all our inspiration. The language movement has taught us how to resist, how to fan the flames of protest against injustice.
“But we have seen a time when the history of the language movement has been greatly distorted,” she said adding that a section had tried to hide the role of Bangabandhu in the language movement.
She said ‘Pakistanis deeply disliked Bengal due to their inferiority. Because, the language is the basis of culture and if the language disrupted then, the culture will be disrupted. They did it with that in mind.”
NU Vice-Chancellor Prof Moshiur Rahman presided over the event while educationist Syed Manzrool Islam, and former Jagannath University VC Prof Mijanur Rahman also participated at the discussion.
Kurigram Law college principal S M Abraham Lincoln presented a key note paper at the programme.
