C T Online Desk: COX’S BAZAR, June 13, 2026- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited Dulahazara Safari Park in Cox’s Bazar at 2pm today after attending re-excavation programme of the historic Patli canal in the district.
He was accompanied by his spouse Dr Zubaida Rahman. During the visit, they toured various parts of the park.
Earlier, the premier landed at the Cox’s Bazar airport and drove himself to the canal excavation site. He was accompanied in the front passenger seat by Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed.
Afterward, the he drove himself from there to the Dulahazara Safari Park.
Throughout the route, thousands of local residents as well as party leaders and activists warmly welcomed the Prime Minister by waving hands, scattering flowers, and chanting slogans.
Although Cox’s Bazar is best known for its sea beach, this safari park is one of the district’s major attractions and is the country’s first safari park. It features a unique wildlife environment with hills, forests, water bodies, and hundreds of animals roaming in open natural surroundings.
The park is located in Dulahazara, under Chakaria Upazila. It is approximately 107 kilometers from Chattogram and about 47 kilometers from Cox’s Bazar.
The safari park origins date back to the 1980-81 fiscal year, when the Forest Department established a deer breeding center on 42.5 hectares of forest land. Later, an initiative was taken to develop the country’s first safari park at the site.
