C T Online Desk: The Election Commission (EC) has cancelled the nomination of Monira Sharmin, a joint convener of the National Citizen Party (NCP), for a reserved women’s seat in the 13th National Parliament.
Officials announced the decision on Thursday (23 April) after 12pm at the Election Building in Agargaon, Dhaka.
Sharmin’s lawyer Nazmus Sakib said she still has the option to file an appeal against the decision.
The development marks a setback for the party’s bid to secure representation in the reserved seat category.
