C T Online Desk: Sarwar Jahan Jewel Mymensingh : The upazila administration has rescued a mentally unstable, pregnant woman from the Dhanikhola Bazar area of Trishal Upazila, Mymensingh. Today, Tuesday (April 7, 2026), she was declared a vagrant/homeless person and arrangements were made to send her to the government shelter center, Pubail, Gazipur.
Executive Magistrate and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Arafat Siddiqui took this initiative with the help of the Upazila Social Service Officer and Trishal Thana Police.
It is learned that the rescued woman is pregnant. There is anger among the locals about those involved in the inhumane incident that happened to her. Conscious circles have demanded that those involved in the incident be quickly identified and brought to justice. Meanwhile, the locals have praised the humanitarian initiative of the upazila administration for quickly taking the helpless woman into safe custody and arranging treatment and shelter.
