C T Online Desk: Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman is set to visit Delhi on Tuesday (7 April) in a bid to lay the groundwork for sustainable political relations with India.
This marks the first visit to Delhi by a Bangladeshi minister since the BNP returned to power.
Through this visit, Dhaka aims to understand India’s stance on the future of bilateral relations while also conveying Bangladesh’s long-term vision for partnership.
According to senior government sources, during his three-day trip from 7 to 9 April, the Foreign Minister will seek to understand India’s position and send a clear message that both countries should work towards maintaining a relationship based on mutual respect and trust—not only for the current government’s tenure but over the long term.
Before attending the Indian Ocean Conference in Port Louis, Mauritius, on 11 and 12 April, Khalilur Rahman will visit India’s capital. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s foreign affairs adviser Humayun Kabir will accompany him.
