C T Online Desk: Posts, Telecommunications and Information Communication Technology Adviser Md Nahid Islam is set to visit Ganabhaban, the official residence of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, on Saturday.
Ministry officials confirmed that he is expected to arrive at Ganabhaban around 11am.
On Thursday, Hasnat Abdullah, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, proposed during a Facebook Live session to turn Ganabhaban into a museum.
“The Ganabhaban was the arena of fascism. Previously, we saw that everyone was Ganabhaban-oriented. Whether someone faced personal issues or sought privileges, such as a plot in Purbachal, they drew the prime minister’s attention at Ganabhaban. It became an arena of fascism,” Hasnat said.
He added that the student movement will propose permanently transforming Ganabhaban into a museum to mark this period of history.
On Friday, the “Shahidi March” program announced a five-point demand, one of which is to declare Ganabhaban as the “July-Memorial Museum”.
