C T Online Desk: Dec 13, 2025- The Martyred Intellectuals Day-2025 will be observed tomorrow in Chattogram city and different upazilas of the district with paying due homage to the martyred intellectuals who were abducted and killed by the Pakistani occupation forces and their collaborators on the eve of final victory in the nine-month Liberation War in 1971.
Chattogram City Corporation (CCC), District Administration, Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP), political parties, professional and socio-cultural organisations have taken elaborate programmes to observe the day.
The programmes included placing wreaths at Martyred Graveyard in the city’s Pahartali area, discussion meeting, Doa and Milad Mahfils.
Besides, the national flag will hoist a half-mast on all important government and non-government offices while BTV Chattogram center will broadcast special programmes highlighting the importance of the day.
To observe the day, Bangladesh Betar Ctg regional transmission center will air special programmes while local dailies initiated to publish articles on the importance of the day.
Chattogram District Administration will organise a discussion meeting at the Circuit House at 11am tomorrow and distribute special grants to the different religious and social organisations.
The CCC Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain will place garlands at Pahartali Intellectual Graveyard in the morning on Sunday to pay respect to the valiant sons of the soil.
To mark the day, the city, north and south district units of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its front organisations, Jammat-e-Islami, Chattogram Metropolitan Union of Journalists, Chattogram Press Club, Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad, Chattogram University (CU), Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Science University (CVASU) chalked out daylong programmes.
