C T Online Desk: Mahmud Foysal, Staff Reporter : A seminar on the significance of the education stipend program of the Department of Social Services in mainstreaming disabled children has been held in Noakhali.
The seminar was held on Monday (December morning at the Noakhali Sadar Upazila Hall Room at the initiative of the Upazila Social Services Office. Teachers, journalists, guardians, social workers and people from different classes and professions participated in the seminar.
Md. Safayet Hossain Talukder, Deputy Director of Noakhali District Social Services Office, presented the keynote speech at the seminar. He discussed in detail the importance and positive impact of this government stipend program in ensuring the right to education of disabled children and improving their quality of life.
The program was chaired by Noakhali Sadar Upazila Social Services Officer Nehrin Tabassum and chaired by Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Homayra Islam. Assistant Director (Administration and Finance) Mohammad Abul Kashem and Assistant Director (Programme) Mohammad Abdur Rahman of the District Social Services Office were present as special guests.
The speakers emphasized on making the scholarship program more dynamic to ensure the education of disabled children and make them an integral part of the society.
The officials of the Social Services Office expressed the hope that through this seminar, the message of the government initiative to encourage the education of disabled children will be more effectively reached to the general public.
