C T Online Desk: Special Correspondent | Shakhawat Hossain Sabbir : Ten more people have died of dengue across the country in the past 24 hours, while 1,069 new patients were admitted to different hospitals, according to a report released on Wednesday (November 5) by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Between Tuesday 8:00 a.m. and Wednesday 8:00 a.m., the DGHS’s Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room recorded five deaths in Dhaka South City Corporation areas, three in Dhaka North, and one each in Khulna and Barishal divisions.
Among the newly admitted patients, 251 were from Dhaka North City Corporation, 152 from Dhaka South, and 219 from areas under Dhaka division outside the city corporations.
Additionally, 128 new cases were reported in Barishal, 99 in Chattogram, 68 in Khulna, 70 in Mymensingh, 34 in Rajshahi, 43 in Rangpur, and 5 in Sylhet divisions.
During the same period, 958 patients were released from hospitals across the country. So far this year, 71,487 dengue patients have recovered after receiving treatment, while a total of 75,992 people have been hospitalized. The official death toll from dengue in 2025 now stands at 302.
In comparison, 575 dengue-related deaths were reported in 2024, with 101,214 hospital admissions that year. The previous year, 2023, saw a record 1,705 deaths and over 321,000 hospitalizations due to dengue across Bangladesh.
