C T Online Desk: Nov 04, 2025– Urging all to remain cautious against misleading information and potential disorder centering the upcoming national election, Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser Supradip Chakma today mentioned that fair election is a fundamental cornerstone of democracy.
“Responsible cooperation from all stakeholders is essential to guarantee a peaceful and favorable environment. The interim government is dedicated to hosting an inclusive, free, peaceful, and impartial election, thereby enabling the public to exercise their voting rights without hindrance,” he said.
The adviser made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at Kathin Chivar Dan festival at the Basabo Dharmarajik Buddhist Mahavihar in the city, said a press release.
In his speech, Supradip Chakma stated that the Kathin Chivar Dan festival is not merely religious but also carries messages of peace, harmony, and democracy.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to religious freedom, noting that the administration is equally respectful of all religions and communities.
He added that the government continually cooperates to ensure that all religious festivals are observed without obstruction.
He expressed hope that organizing this traditional event, known as the ‘Danoottom Kathin Chivar Dan’, with the comprehensive support of the Buddhist Religious Welfare Trust and the Executive Council of Upasak-Upasika, is a matter of pride and prestige.
He anticipated that this arrangement will grant the customary Buddhist Kathin Chivar Dan new national significance and meaning, leading to its high regard within the Bangladeshi Buddhist community.
Buddhists participated in the day-long religious festival from various regions of the country, including the CHT. The programme included religious discourses (Deshana) provided by Buddhist monks.
