BGB Seizes Indian Liquor Worth Tk 1.3 Lakh at Feni Border

C T Online Desk: Shakhawat Hussain Shabbir, Special Correspondent : Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have seized Indian liquor worth around Tk 1.3 lakh from the Zoshpur border area in Chhagalnaiya upazila of Feni district.

According to a press release issued by BGB Battalion-4 on Saturday evening, the seizure was made during an anti-smuggling drive conducted in the South Zoshpur area near the Indian border.

Lt. Col. Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, commanding officer of Feni Battalion-4, confirmed the incident and said that a team from the battalion recovered 87 bottles of Indian liquor during the operation.

The seized liquor is estimated to be worth Tk 1,30,500, according to BGB sources.

Lt. Col. Mosharraf added that preparations are underway to file a case with the Chhagalnaiya Police Station regarding the seizure.

He further stated that BGB has strengthened surveillance and patrols along the border to curb smuggling and prevent the illegal trafficking of drugs and other contraband items.
