C T Online Desk: A day-long workshop titled “Project Implementation: Challenges and Way Forward & Experience Sharing on Completed Projects under BPC” was held at Eastern Refinery Limited (ERL), Chattogram, on 4 September 2025.

The workshop was jointly organized by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division (EMRD) and the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC).

This first-of-its-kind initiative in the history of EMRD was held under the leadership and guidance of Mohammad Saiful Islam, Secretary, Energy and Mineral Resources Division, and with the active supervision and support of Md. Amin Ul Ahsan, Chairman (Secretary), Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation.

The workshop brought together key stakeholders involved in project implementation across the sector. Project Directors, project staff, Managing Directors of BPC’s affiliated organizations, and officials from various wings of EMRD, including the Planning Wing, actively participated in the event.

As Chief Guest, Secretary Mohammad Saiful Islam inaugurated the workshop, while BPC Chairman Md. Amin Ul Ahsan presided over the sessions.

A highlight of the event was the recognition of three Project Directors—from the Chattogram-Dhaka Pipeline, Single Point Mooring (SPM), and Custody Flow Meter projects—for their successful project completion. They were awarded crests and certificates by the EMRD Secretary in appreciation of their outstanding contributions.

Throughout the day, Project Directors and relevant officials shared their practical experiences, lessons learned, and strategic recommendations for future projects. The Secretary of EMRD and the BPC Chairman also provided valuable strategic guidance and actionable insights, which are expected to serve as game changers for the successful implementation of upcoming projects.
