CU opens today with eerie calm still prevailing

C T Online Desk: A tense situation still prevailing marks the low presence of students on the campus.

The Chattogram University (CU) reopened today, two days after the clashes that occurred between students and villagers. However, a tense situation is still prevailing across the campus.

According to sources, the university administration announced that classes and exams would resume today, following a decision made at a syndicate meeting on Tuesday night.

However, the number of students was reported to be very low, although the first shuttle train arrived on campus from the city at 8:10 am.

In addition, students were not visible at Zero Point or in the surrounding areas of the campus. A tense situation prevails fearing a student protest.

Residential students complained that although the syndicate meeting had decided to maintain striking forces and patrols until the situation returned to normal, these measures seemed to be somewhat relaxed today.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr Kamal Uddin told the Daily Sun that the situation remains calm.
