Mokarrom Billah from Feni : On Tuesday, 19th August in 2025, a businessman of Feni, Zahidul Islam Bhuiyan, has alleged that he was attacked and threatened by terrorists in the area, for that went to file a GD at the police station. two police officers of Feni Model Police Station misbehaved with him and threatened. He confirmed us, he has submitted a written complaint to the Police Security Cell of Bangladesh Police Headquarters, regarding the incident.
According to Zahidul’s complaint, a terrorist gang of 8-10 peoples, including Apu, Hasan, Joy and Sameer from Mathiya village in Feni Sadar, has been occurring various crimes in the area, including alcohol, gambling and robbery. When he protested, threats were made at the door of his medicine shop, on the night of August 13th. The next day, on August 14th, around 7:30 pm, the terrorists entered the shop and attacked Zahidul. For that cause, Jahidul told the incident, to Feni Model Police Station’s ASI Emran Hossain over the phone. He(ASI Emran) went to the scene at night, took statements from the locals, and asked Jahidul to come to the police station in the morning.
The next day, on the morning of August 15th, when he went to the police station, ASI Emran suggested Jahidul to file a GD. When Zahidul went to submit the written copy to the duty officer, Inspector (Investigation) Sojol Kanti Das got angry, abused him and threatened.
The complaint states that Sojol Kanti Das threw the GD copy and told the duty officer, “make a document and hang this GD around your neck.” At the time of the incident, Zahidul’s cousin Mahim and village resident Mohammad Khalek were present.
He has submitted a written complaint to the headquarters, demanding departmental action against the police and ensuring the safety of himself and his business.
Jahidul also said, “I went to the police station for the first time in my short life. The behavior of the police officers has disappointed me. Due to threats and attacks by terrorists, I am in extreme insecurity. I am not even able to open a business medicine shop,” besides, a copy of the charge sheet has been sent to the Home Affairs Advisor, IGP, DIG of Chittagong Range and Feni Superintendent of Police.
In this regard, Feni Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shamsuz-zaman said, “The matter has come to my attention. It is our responsibility to provide legal assistance to a victim when he comes to the police station. After all, Necessary action will be taken after verifying the truth of the complaint.”
