1000 School Bags Distribution for Brilliant but Underprivileged Students

C T Online Desk: Special correspondent : A school bag distribution program was held yesterday at Baharchara Ratnapur High School to support bright yet underprivileged students. The initiative was organized under the leadership of Rtn. PP Md. Muzibur Rahman, Founder of Baharchara Ratnapur High School, and Saber Ahmed Master Smriti Songstha, in collaboration with BACHAO (Bangladeshi American Charitable Organization).

The event took place on Saturday, 16 August 2025, with the aim of encouraging education by easing some of the daily challenges faced by students from economically struggling families. The school’s Headmaster, Mr. Swapan Chowdhury, along with teachers and staff, attended the program and worked together to make it successful.

In his speech, Rtn. PP Md. Muzibur Rahman emphasized the importance of community support in ensuring equal educational opportunities. He expressed gratitude to BACHAO for their continuous efforts in rural Bangladesh’s educational development and highlighted their dedication to empowering young learners.

He also mentioned BACHAO’s broader initiatives, which include distributing 1,100 ring toilets to underprivileged students’ families for better sanitation, providing eye treatment for nearly 27,000 patients including 3,000 free cataract surgeries, and offering regular educational aid to disadvantaged students.

This year, 1,000 school bags were distributed to students of Baharchara Ratnapur High School. Over the past several years, a total of about 9,800 more school bags have been given to the same school, bringing the total number of distributed bags to 10,800.

The students gratefully received the new bags, which will not only support them in their daily school life but also inspire them to continue their studies with renewed determination. This program once again reflects BACHAO’s mission, along with its partners, to stand beside talented but underprivileged students and to ensure that financial hardship does not hinder their path to academic success.
