C T Online Desk: A Dhaka court has sentenced E-commerce platform Evaly’s Managing Director Mohammad Russell and his wife, Shamima Nasrin, the company’s chairman, to three years in prison in a fraud case.
Along with the prison sentence, they have each been fined Tk5,000 and in default of payment, will face an additional six months of imprisonment.
The verdict was delivered on Sunday (6 April) by Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Minhajur Rahman.
The plaintiff’s lawyer, Sakibul Islam, confirmed the matter. He said the accused are currently on the run. The court has issued warrants for both conviction and arrest against them.
