C T Online Desk: The holidays for Eid-ul-Azha will be six days, Eid-ul-Fitr will have five days of public holidays, while Durga Puja will have a two-day holiday next year.
This decision came during a meeting of the advisory council chaired by Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus on Thursday at the chief adviser’s Office in Tejgaon, according to sources, as the council approved the list of public holidays for 2025.
Each of the two Eids will have one general holiday, with the remaining days off being granted through executive orders before and after the Eid days.
For Durga Puja, the general holiday will be on the day of Dashami, with an additional holiday on Nabami by executive order.
Currently, Eid holidays last for three days, although in some years they were extended through executive orders.
The interim government had also added one day to the Puja holidays this year through an executive order.
