C T Online Desk: General Waker-Uz-Zaman says he will work on restoring peace and order in the country
Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Monday said an interim government will be formed to run the country.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has quit the power and we will conduct our activities through an interim government,” he said while addressing the nation this afternoon.
“We have held a meeting with the leaders of the main political parties and hope this discussion will be effective. We will form an interim government and run Bangladesh,” he added.
The army chief said he would work on fulfilling the demands of the people and restoring peace and order in the country.
