Protesters stage ‘March for Justice’ demo on Ctg court premises

C T Online Desk: Protesters staged a demonstration programme in the Chattogram court’s premises defying a police barrier on Wednesday.

At around 11:30am, protesters began their demonstration in front of the District Council Building on the road near Lal Dighi Par in the Kotwali Thana area.

The protest gained momentum when a group of lawyers joined, helping the students march towards the court building.

Initially, students blocked the road in front of the District Council Building. Within half an hour, the police issued an ultimatum for the protesters to clear the road.

The agitating students and lawyers then moved towards the lawyers’ building, where they continued their demonstration, chanting slogans in support of their demands.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police’s Additional Commissioner (Administration and Finance) A S M Mahatab Uddin, Kotwali Zone Assistant Commissioner Atanu Chakraborty, and Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Obaidul Haque were present at the scene.

None of them were willing to comment on the ongoing protest when approached for statements.
