C T Online Desk: US Ambassador Peter Haas has left Dhaka after completing his duties in Bangladesh. He left Dhaka for Washington on Monday night.
Peter Haas, the outgoing US Ambassador to Bangladesh, who left Dhaka at the height of the movement violence, said that he did not even think he would have to leave Bangladesh like this.
Peter Haas said in a post on social media LinkedIn on Tuesday night that he will finish his mission in Bangladesh and return to the United States.
He said, “Not exactly the way I expected to conclude my assignment as US Ambassador to Bangladesh. As I return to the United States, my heartfelt thanks to everyone at the US Embassy, to my family, friends, and colleagues, to the people of Bangladesh, and to everyone who believes in a freer, more prosperous Bangladesh.”
