Woman dies of heatstroke in Dinajpur

C T Online Desk: A woman died of heatstroke in Fulbari upazila of Dinajpur on Friday amid ongoing heatwave across Bangladesh.

The deceased was identified as Hasina Begum, 57, wife of deceased Ajit of Chakkadea Karaipara village of Shibnagar union.

Hasina Begum fell unconscious while cutting grass for the cows on the land next to the house at 2pm.

Being rescued by locals, she was rushed to Fulbari Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctor referred her to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital.

She died on the way to the hospital.

In this regard, Fulbari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mir Md Al Kamah Tamal said that people are suffering from heatstroke due to extreme heat. Upazila administration is repeatedly spreading awareness messages to people that no one should go out of the house unless emergency.

Meanwhile, Shibnagar Union Chairman Samedul Islam also confirmed her death.
