Chattogra Customs Authority is destroying 220 containers of rotten goods imported at Chattogram port. This initiative has been taken as these products were lying for a long time and were not sold at auction.From Wednesday (January 11), the work of destruction of rotten goods started at a vacant site in Madhyam Halishahar Anandabazar Beribandh area.
It is known that these containers contain fruits, ginger, buffalo meat, fish and fish meal, canola seeds etc.Out of 220 containers, there are 22 containers including referred and dry in Chittagong port, 198 are in various off-docks. These products are being destroyed in coordination with 8 government agencies.According to the Chittagong Customs Authority, with the permission of the Department of Environment, necessary vehicles including cranes, excavators, trailers, trucks have been arranged for carrying out activities in the five-acre area of Beribandh area. The decomposed products will be buried in the soil.
