C T Online Desk: Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) is moving towards the implementation of a new housing project after almost a century. This housing project will be implemented on 13 acres of land adjacent to Bayezid Loop Road in the city. Where about 280 crores will be spent. This housing project named ‘Bayezid Housing’ will have more than 100 residential plots and 15 commercial plots. According to the project officials, the cost of each residential plot may be around Tk 40 lakh and the cost of commercial plot will be around Tk 1 crore.
The Detailed Project Plan (DPP) of the project has been sent to the Ministry of Housing and Public Works last year. The Ministry has given some amendments to the project. At the same time, the Ministry also formed a committee headed by the Joint Secretary Development of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works to investigate whether any mountain is being damaged in the implementation of the project. Project officials said that after revising the project, the revised Detailed Project Plan (DPP) of the project will be sent to the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.According to CDA sources, Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) has allocated around 6,660 plots in 12 residential projects to solve the city’s housing problem. In 2008, CDA took up the latest housing project named Ananya Abashik. Besides, in 2008, an apartment building has been constructed in Kazi Deuri area of the city where 64 flats have been allotted. In continuation of this, CDA took the initiative to implement the project entitled ‘Bayezid Housing Project development adjacent to Loop Road’ on 13 acres of land adjacent to the connecting road (Loop Road) from Dhaka Trunk Road to Bayezid Bostami Road.
