Dohazari rail line renovation work stalled for four months

C T Online Desk:  The work of laying 101 km railway line from Dohazari to Cox’s Bazar is progressing to establish a rail link in the tourist city of Cox’s Bazar.

The construction of a new railway line from Dohazari to Cox’s Bazar has progressed, but the 40 and a half kilometer railway line from Chittagong’s Sholashar to Dohazari is old. This old railway line is not in good condition. There are no stones on the railway line. For this reason, the railway authorities took the initiative to rehabilitate the 40 and a half kilometer railway line from Sholshahar to Dohazari.

Two organizations got the job when the tender was called for the renovation of this railway. Railways contract with these two organizations for the work. But for the last four months, the contractor could not import stone because the LC for the import of all other products except the essential products was closed.

As the LC was closed, the concerned contractor could not start work even in the last four months. According to the concerned contractor, stone will start coming from India after the stone LC is opened from January 15. From then on, the work of laying stones on the railway line will begin.
