Bangladeshi expat wins 35 million dirhams in Abu Dhabi lottery

C T Online Desk: A Bangladeshi expatriate has won 35 million dirhams – around Tk98.5 crore – in Series 247 held in Abu Dhabi in the first Big Ticket raffle draw of the year.

Md Raifel from the city of Al Ain, won the largest-ever grand prize with his ticket No 043678. He had purchased the ticket on December 10 last year, Khaleej Times reported on Tuesday.

But despite their best efforts, the hosts of the draw were unable to reach him on the phone.

Until they reach the new millionaire, the organizers promised to make further attempts to get in touch with him.

The next draw for 23 million dirhams will take place on February 3 for individuals who lost out this time.

All ticket buyers throughout this month will also automatically be placed into the weekly electronic drawing, giving them the chance to win 1kg of 24-carat gold each week.

In addition to the top prize, a second prize at 1 million dirhams, a third prize worth 100,000 dirhams and a fourth prize for 50,000 dirhams will be announced.

The cost of the Big Ticket Millionaire is 500 dirhams per person. If one purchases two tickets, one will get a third one for free.

Additionally, on February 3, buyers of Dream Car tickets will have the chance to win a Range Rover.
