C T Online Desk: Chittagong District and Metropolitan Sector Commanders’ Forum celebrated Martyrs’ Intellectuals Day with the belief that ‘Let all darkness be dispelled by the bright flame of the spirit of liberation war’. Chittagong North District Awami League President and former Zilla Parishad Chairman MA Salam was the chief guest at the lamp lighting ceremony on Tuesday.
He said, those who opposed our liberation war in 1971 have not accepted the independence of Bangladesh even today. Even after five decades of victory, the machinations of national and international conspirators have not stopped.
They are continuously trying to destroy the greatest achievement of Bengali national life, independence under the timeless leadership of Bangabandhu. A united resistance should be built against them in the spirit of the liberation war like in 1971. Which was the dream of our nation’s best children martyred intellectuals and three million martyrs.
At the dawn of independence, the elite children of Bengali intellectuals were killed by the Pak army’s associates Razakar Albadar, who wanted to demoralize the nation. Bir Muktijoddha, Chittagong metropolitan president of the organization, presided over the commemoration ceremony at Chittagong Central Shaheed Minar. .
