C T Online Desk: After two long years of intensive research, the first ever full-fledged encyclopedia on Bangabandhu ‘Mujibpedia’ has been published under the editorship of poet, journalist and researcher Farid Kabir.
This is the first ever complete encyclopedia in the subcontinent, in which international standard research methods have been followed.
This 1/8 demai size two-volume book 1000 pages contains 591 entries and about 750 historical photographs. Poet and researcher Kamal Chowdhury is the editor-in-chief of the book, while The Chairman of the Department of History of Dhaka University Prof. Dr. Abu Md. Delwar Hossain is the executive editor, Md. Fakhrul Islam Chowdhury is the Joint Editor and Shimul Salahuddin is the Assistant Editor.
This is to be noted that, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of Bangabandhu, has revised and edited the entries related to Bangabandhu’s family.
This encyclopedia contains the political life of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the history of his life-long struggle as well as accurate data and information on the independence of Bangladesh.
Tofail Ahmed, Syed Anwar Hossain, Dr. Harun-or-Rashid, Muntasir Mamun, Asaduzzaman Noor, Harun Habib, Justice Obaidul Hasan, National Professor AK Azad Khan, Atiur Rahman, Abul Momen, Syed Manzoorul Islam, Mofidul Haque, Nasir Uddin Yusuf, Brig. Gen. Hussain Muhammad Masihur Rahman, Lt. Colonel (retd.) Kazi Sajjad Ali Zahir, Sheikh Hafizur Rahman, Ramendu Majumder, Syed Badrul Ahsan, Dr. Mohammad Hannan, Morshed Shafiul Hasan, Mashrur Arefin and Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen as well as Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar were among the 97 writers, researchers, historians and politicians who have contributed to this encyclopedia.
