C T Online Desk: A three-day border conference between the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Regional Commanders (Chattogram, Sarail and Cox’s Bazar Regions and Mymensingh Sector) and Border Security Force (BSF) Frontier Inspector Generals (Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Cachar Frontier) began in Agartala, India on Wednesday.
A 13-member Bangladesh delegation led by Brigadier General Tanveer Gani Chowdhury, Region Commander of Chattogram, Southeast Region of BGB participated in the conference.
On the other hand, a 12-member Indian delegation led by Inspector General of BSF Tripura Frontier Shri Sumit Sharan participated in the conference.
In the conference, they will discuss on border killings, illegal infiltration, smuggling of drugs and other drugs, various border crimes including trafficking of women and children, various developmental activities within 150 yards of the international border, development of existing bilateral relations between the two countries as well as various initiatives to increase mutual trust between BGB-BSF.
