C T Online Desk: Even after 14 years of allotment, the settlement has not developed in the Anannya residential area of the city. In 2008, the Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) allocated a total of 1,733 plots including residential, commercial and educational institutions in the Oxygen area.
Even though more than an era of allocation has passed, no facilities have been built there except for a single private hospital. The plot owners are blaming the CDA for not constructing any residential structures. On the other hand, if someone does not construct a building with the plot, the plot owner himself is responsible for it, says the CDA chairman.
Talking to the plot owners of Ananya Residential area, it is known that the cost of piling in Ananya Abasik is very high as compared to other residential areas of the city. That’s why no one is interested in building there. Also Ananya has no end of problems. The entire residential area is currently grassy and forested. Electricity poles in residential areas are also almost a century old. The roads adjacent to the plot are not proper. CDA has also not provided a security wall around the residence.Recently an international standard Medical Hospital is situated in the residential area .
