C T Online Desk: The overall number of global Covid cases is gradually nearing 636 million.
According to the latest global data, the total case count mounted to 635,979,113 while the death toll from the virus reached 6,595,657 on Wednesday morning.
The United States has recorded 99,400,959 cases so far, while 1,095,646 people have died from the virus in the country, both highest counts around the world.
India’s daily Covid caseload on Tuesday decreased comparing to the previous day, officials said.
According to federal health ministry data released on Tuesday morning, 1,046 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in 24 hours, taking the country’s total tally to 44,654,638.
The country also logged 53 related deaths during the past 24 hours, pushing the overall death toll to 529,077 since the beginning of the pandemic, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, Singapore reported 5,652 new cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total tally to 2,108,024.
No new deaths from Covid-19 were reported on Tuesday, leaving the total death toll unchanged at 1,680
Bangladesh reported another Covid death and 94 fresh cases in 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
With the new numbers, the country’s total fatalities rose to 29,424 and caseload to 2,035,334, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.
