Continental Group is building this sports complex on about 25 acres of land as a private initiative. Anisul Islam Mahmud, Member of Parliament of Chittagong-5 Constituency, laid the foundation stone of the sports complex in Khil area of West Dewannagar of Hathazari Upazila on Friday.
Chittagong Metropolitan Awami League General Secretary and BCB Director AJM Nasir Uddin was the special guest. Anisul Islam Mahmud said that once upon a time, many famous cricketers from Chittagong have contributed to Bangladesh cricket. Even if it is reduced at present, I hope that Chittagong players will contribute to the country’s cricket in the future.
Not only the government should work for the development of sports in the country, it is also important to develop sports through individual initiatives. Continental Group is doing the work. If there is such a sports training center in Hathazari, it is good for the development of sports in the area and also good for the country.
