Coast Guard recovers bodies of two in bay, four still missing

C T Online Desk: The bodies of two people who went missing after a stone-laden vessel capsize in the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday were found in the bay near Chattogram’s Patenga area on Friday.

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard recovered the bodies on Friday morning, captain Kazi Shah Alam, zonal commander of coast guard east zone, said.

Six crew members went missing as the vessel, MV Sultan Sanzana, capsized in the bay on Wednesday.

After recovery of the bodies of the two victims, four crew members remained missing till Friday 1:00pm.

‘We are conducting a rescue operation to find the other missing,’ captain Kazi Shah Alam said.

In another incident, five bodies of crew members, out of seven who went missing after a fishing trawler capsize in river Karnaphuli in Chattogram on early Wednesday, were recovered on Thursday from the river.
