Protest against noise pollution: No one is on the side of lonely Sujan

C T Online Desk: In this mechanized urban life, noise pollution is a fear. Unreasonable honking noise in vehicles is affecting the lives of the people.

Day after day this torture of noise pollution is increasing mental diseases among people. Still no one cares.

But even in such a situation when the administration is silent, a person named Sujan Barua is protesting silently. For almost 32 days, they have been holding placards while sitting at the city’s Cheragi Pahar intersection. Not getting any response, he started the hunger strike again.

He started this program from Tuesday (October 3) morning at Cheragi Pahar intersection in the city, but he sat on hunger strike on Wednesday as well. Initially, he announced that he will continue the hunger strike for three days.

Sujan Buraya told BanglaNews that there have been several arguments with the drivers over the honking of the horn for no reason. But they don’t want to obey at all. Despite protesting this many times, I was harassed. Actually I can do anything alone. Hence my protest.

He said that although hydraulic horns were banned by the High Court verdict, the administration did not take any initiative to stop them. As a result, this production has increased. Even though we don’t understand what noise pollution is doing to us, we don’t realize the long-term damage it does.

Sujan Barua, who is vocal against noise pollution, is a resident of Chandgaon area of Chittagong city. He works in online platforms to buy and sell products. Even before this, he has been doing this movement since July 21 of this year.

Sujan said, I have done the program for about 32 days. Among these, we held a sit-in program at Cheragi Pahar Junction from October 1 to 3. Now we are observing a three-day hunger strike.

Meanwhile, Sujan Barua has been protesting for a long time but no one is standing by her. Apart from his two children, son Abhishek Barua and daughter Chandrima Barua, who have just completed their SSC examination, no one has stood beside them so far. Not even an official of the administration or any member of the environmentalist organization was seen to stand by.

Sujan Barua said, “I have been agitating for a long time. When I walk down the street everyone calls me crazy. But I didn’t give up. I will continue this movement no matter what. Even if no one comes from the administration, I want my message to reach the administration.
