‘Hasina: A Daughter’s Tale’ screened at Universiti Teknologi Brunei

C T Online Desk:  Bangladesh High Commission in Brunei Darussalam celebrated the 76th Birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by screening the documentary titled ‘Hasina: A Daughter’s Tale’ at the Universiti Teknologi Brunei on Wednesday (Sept 28).

The wise and worthy daughter of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was born on September 28, 1947.

Losing her parents and other beloved family members on 15 August 1975 at the cruel and ruthless hands of some unscrupulous traitors was the most tragic part of her life as well as of her younger sister Sheikh Rehana who also survived the carnage.

In the ‘Hasina: A Daughter’s Tale’ Sheikh Hasina recounts and narrates her experiences with her family members starting from her childhood at Tungipara, Gopalganj to their life in exile following the brutality of 1975, and to finally their return to their motherland Bangladesh.

Tran Van Khoa Ambassador of Vietnam, Abel Guterres, Ambassador of Timor leste Bernard Regnauld-Fabre, Ambassador of France Ambra May Dickie, High Commissioner-Designate of Canada, members of Bangladesh community, students of UTB, and representatives of Civil Society, all turned up to watch the documentary and appreciated it.

The event was enlivened by a group photo session followed by refreshment. A discussion session on the documentary marked the end of the event.

The discussion was moderated by Dr Malai Zeiti Binti Sheikh Abdul Hamid, Assistant Professor, UTB, and participated by Abel Guterres Ambassador of Timor leste, Hajah Zabaidah binti, Kamaludin, President of The Women Graduates Association of Brunei Darussalam and few students of UTB, Muhammad Aqil, Muhammad Arib Bin Abas, Muhammad Wazef Mubarak Bin Mohamad Fauzzy, Amirah Syahirah Binti Sahari.

They shared their feelings about the life of Sheikh Hasina as well as the lessons that they took from the documentary.

The Bangladesh High Commissioner Ms. Nahida Rahman Shumona wholeheartedly thanked everyone for watching the documentary and requested them to pray for the good health and well-being of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
