Rangamati: Auto-rickshaw drivers on indefinite strike

C T Online Desk: Rangamati Auto-rickshaw Workers Union went on an indefinite strike in the district to protest the attack on CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver, vehicle vandalism and arson attack.

As the strike started on Sunday (Sep 18) morning, students and office-goers were getting no auto-rickshaws, the only public transport in the district, to reach their destinations. They, however, were seen going to their destinations on foot.

On Friday (Sep 16) some miscreants torched an auto-rickshaw at Agorbagan area on the Rangamati-Asambasti-Kaptai road for not paying toll.

On Saturday (Sep 17) night auto-rickshaw driver Abul Hossain was injured as the miscreants vandalised his vehicle in Rangapani area.

According to workers, the miscreants have been doing this for toll.
